I used to live in a town where I could see the stars a lot. I don't live there anymore, and I miss the stars the most. Sorry, Mom.
lyrics
Every once in a while I go out
and just sit on a bench in the park.
I watch the sun go down and I lean back
and just stare up at the stars.
Or, at least, the ones I can see through the city lights that
fill the sky and fog up the view.
But I know that just past that glare
is a sky all filled up with stars.
But what am I to remember when it's all done?
Do I remember the tainted view through the lights?
Should I try to go somewhere and find the perfect night sky view?
Driving fast down the highway
trying desperately to escape the city lights.
The farther out I get the more the stars come
into view as the universe is exposed.
And as it reaches perfection I pull to the side of the road.
Park my car right next to an empty field.
I close my eyes and feel the breeze
coming from the country side.
